Looks like I was a bit hopeful. 21st is still a pretty good effort. Exciting racing too with the last dozen runners.

Hi everyone,
Thanks for all the support for the NZ Team. It's been an exciting week over here.
The sprint final went reasonably well for me. However, I stuffed up two of the longer route choices, so lost a bit of time.
In the long distance final I felt really slow from the start line and lost a lot of time just running, so was pretty disappointed with my race. Especially as this is what I had been training the most for. However, I was lucky to get some help from Hubmann towards the end of the race.
Then had a good race today in the Middle, so was happy with that.
Everyone else has had some good runs, or at least parts of runs, with a solid run from Thomas in the long qualifier, and Ross and Tane in the middle qual. Lara had a fantastic result making it into the long distance final, and Rita had a good result in the Sprint qual. Unfortunately James made too many big mistakes in his long qual, so was a bit disappointed, but was otherwise running well.
Relay tomorrow, which everyone is excited for, so that should be lots of fun. I reckon we have a good chance of getting a great result, so should be exciting.
Chris

nice work team and absolutely legendary Chris! you're the new landels for the upcoming o' kids to look at as a superhero: "i heard he was seven feet tall and set fire to the earth as he ran", etc, etc.
have fun in the relay. i'll have fun eating a piece of cake and watching...

Good to see the kiwi girls will be running after all, with Emily replacing Lizzie. Best wishes all of you. Zzzzz.
