Looks like Aari has qualified 4th, even after a 'off' according to the race report

Aari finished up 4th in the Junior Elite grade of the World Mountain Bike Champs for Downhill. He was 0.3sec off the bronze medal. He may have raced with a broken arm although some foreign doctor said it was only bent...yeah right.
Aari represented NZ in the Secondary Schools team for Orienteering in 2005 and 2006.

OHV member Simon Kennett is 6 days into the Great Divide Race - 4000km by mountainbike from the US-Canadian border to Mexico. Website http://www.greatdividerace.com Blog greatdividekiwi.blogspot.com Should give the others a bit of a chance in the Wgtn MTBO series...

It's day 10 of the Great Divide Race. Simon Kennett will be about half way now, somewhere between Rawlings Wyoming and Steamboat Springs Colorado. He was off-colour back up the trail and spent 11 hours chilling out in Atlantic City. (Yes I envisaged hotels and air-conditioned restaurants etc but the population is 39.) The field of 18 is down to 11 with Simon 8th.

Barring disasters, Simon will finish the GDR about midday today New Mexico time (6am tomorrow here). The field is now 7 and he'll be the fourth finisher. Te Araroa next Simon?

Cool Jamie!
Also saw Adrian Jackson in action on the same day; he built up a lead of 11 mins in the Karapoti Classic only to see it disappear in a flash due to a puncture.

So Aussies can't fix a puncture in 11min eh?
Other high-up names with an orienteering connection: don't I remember Karl Strode-Penny occasionally orienteering a few years back? (18th); Ian Paintin winner of Ak Attack 20th and 1st M40. This is out of 1000 riders. Presume you were there calling the race Mick.

I'm pretty sure AJ busted his derailleur at Karapoti. Not really fixable in the field.
