Congratulations to Ross for two wins - hats off to him winning starting last both times - winning being the top-ranked runner is always an achievement.
My hats of to Carsten and Jenny as well, no medals in the sprint (Carsten got 7th after being 2nd starter) but a winner in time management. Jenny started 14.48, Carsten started 15.18 and Kaia started 15.39, with a 12-15 minute walk to the start. I saw Jenny struggling uphill going to the start carrying a baby on her back
and Kaia by her side. And at the start I saw a sweating Carsten turn up just before Kaia's start. With this dedication, I'm sure we are seeing champions past, present and future.

It's a privilege to run on a 1:15,000 map these days. Great selection of terrain. A very challenging weekend. Events such as this prove for me there is no good reason for leaving fences off the map at A-level.

Is there something wrong with the split file (in RG) for the middle? The animation for some runners shows alternating legs going real slow, then lightning fast. Maybe they were adopting the new plan that only some legs counted..

An extra control has been added at the end of the tapped route which puts the splits 1 leg in front of the map and means the animation stops at the second to last control.

Is the end of the taped route, control 5?

remove new #5,
also is it possible to reload the maps with a better dpi, making the map edge smaller if possible? Don't need to include the map title or bits of the map not used.

Great photos Norm - Are they copyright only to you??
If we want to add these photos to the profiles of orienteers on Maptalk photos can we do this or ask you to add them? Also can they be sent to local media to be used?

Best we spare a thought for the farmers whose land we ran across, http://www.hbemergency.govt.nz/hawkes-bay-civil-defence-emergency-management-group/event-photos_idl=2_idt=494_id=2247_.html
I can't tell if any of the photo's are of the maps we ran on.

Getting off-topic a bit here, but are the flood photos from the last day or two, or from longer ago? (I have a professional interest here)
