Show Profile  Eponine_ Posted: 11 April 2006, 8:51 AM
Yay!

Show Profile  Eponine_ Posted: 11 April 2006, 8:55 AM
The relay is gay.

Show Profile  Jamie Posted: 11 April 2006, 11:42 AM
Hey maybe we could make the relay red level...

Show Profile  fraser Posted: 12 April 2006, 3:05 AM
...don't get me started on that one.

I think the number of people attending is all to do with the timing of the nationals. Do other people think the nationals should be at easter...

Show Profile  Dave Barr Posted: 12 April 2006, 3:11 AM
Timing of the nationals all depends on whether a thumb-compass or baseplate is better.

There must be better ways of heating up that Southland airr than getting THAT debate started up again Fraser.

Show Profile  SimonB Posted: 17 April 2006, 5:24 AM
well, that was awesome.

yeah full credit to the clubs involved for a great nationals...

tough fair races.

great innovation with the format of the prizegiving and the band, biggest flaw of the whole weekend was shutting the band down too early, I'm sure they and we were just warming up.

Four completely different races...
Possibly the most beautiful orienteering venue ever for the Long...
Great Atmosphere with around 450 like minded lunatics racing, chatting, bragging, making excuses, and nice event centres...
The good people of southern Blenheim traumatised by about 50 fast fit (well 30 fast fit + a few hangers on) athletes charging down their street as the relay started...
The best prizegiving/dinner/party for a long time (since Kawhia maybe)...

For those who weren't there,

So where the bloody hell were you????

(I know next year won't be quite so exotic and new territory, but let's try to break 500 entries!)

Show Profile  Martin Posted: 19 April 2006, 6:08 AM
how do you know that about next year?

Show Profile  Jamie Posted: 19 April 2006, 6:28 AM

Show Profile  Brenda Boghopper Posted: 19 April 2006, 7:32 AM

Show Profile  Alistair Posted: 19 April 2006, 7:43 PM

Show Profile  HeadHoncho Posted: 19 April 2006, 10:43 PM
They're up on Winsplits Al. The Czech dude and Tania won classic and middle; Chris and Penny won the sprint.
