TV3 tonight, 9.30, PULP SPORT.
Toni Marsh goes bush with Bill & Ben for some orienteering??

Show Profile  MASH Posted: 7 September 2006, 3:18 PM
Oh well, I did learn one thing from this #!*&%#@~.
"Orienteering is a geek sport"
First time I have watched this #!*&%#@~.
Can't wait to miss the rest!

They did take the piss but if they actually asked Orienteers some questions and understood it a bit better then their taking the piss would make more sense. I still laughed though.

Was quite amusing, especially the line " hey, theres the others..."

The forest rave section also made me laugh (they didn't know how close to the truth they were)

Makes me proud to be an orienteering geek

Man, our NZ team uniform is so out of line - see http://web.mac.com/cmoc/iWeb/Counties%20Manukua%20Orienteering%20Club/Welcome%20to%20CMOC.html
We need to get everyone into beige stubbies and walk socks! Outstanding. I hope the clubs can deal with the influx of new members after that one.

Show Profile  olde codger Posted: 9 September 2006, 7:10 AM
what a load of s+#%t it was and for those who thought it funny, or even raised a slight smirk, all I can say there brain must be made of the same substance.I wonder who finances such drival? The Swindill twins must have been embarrassed to have been on the programme

We only have Channel None in the Ahuriri, and I can't be arsed trying to watch video over dialup. So, reading the above, maybe I missed something, maybe I didn't, BUT...

Looks like "opinion of Bill & Ben" is yet another tool for detecting generation gaps. And yet again I find myself straddling that gap as I'd say they have their moments but you can only get so much comic material out of openly admitting to not being that funny. But anyone who tuned in expecting it to be a real programme about sport, and thus expecting a real segment about orienteering... well you'll know better next time.

Show Profile  Ellmo1769 Posted: 9 September 2006, 3:34 PM
Um where is this Ahuriri you speak of??

Show Profile  Greg Posted: 9 September 2006, 4:12 PM
The urban marathon was one of the funniest things I have ever seen.

Show Profile  Jamie Posted: 10 September 2006, 2:17 PM
Olde swindley Neil Kerrison up to his old tricks? Or someone else who can't spell and is calling me shit for brains?

Show Profile  Greg Posted: 10 September 2006, 2:29 PM
