UK Orienteering Exchange

UK Trotters Posted: 31 May 2006, 1:19 PM   Hi There, We are a Family from Cornwall in the UK, and one of our main family hobbies is Orienteering. We are in our early 30's with 2 young well behaved children, Finnegan aged four who loves Orienteering (especially the string and white courses) and Rosie who is one and a half and loves anything new. We have a passion for anything to do with the outdoors from orienteering, adventure racing and mountain biking through to geocaching and kitesurfing. We are looking at coming to New Zealand from 23 November 2006 through to 18 January 2007 (8 weeks in total). Our primary aim for our trip is to explore both the North and South Island and to also try to compete in as many orienteering events (or similar) as possible while we are visiting. We know there will be a limited number of events over your Summer Hols, but we hope there will be a few we can get to. At the moment, our ideal mode of transport would be a Motorhome, but we are struggling to find a one for the entire trip duration that is within our budget and so we thought we'd turn to some likeminded people for some help or advice. We thought we'd see if there is anyone willing to exchange the use of a 4 berth Motorhome, or similar - maybe a camping package and we hire a car, with the use of a 3 bedroom home in beautiful Cornwall in the UK (The use of our home in Cornwall does not necessarily have to be at the same time of year as it's our winter, we are happy to move out for a short period of time in exchange for the trip of a lifetime) - or alternatively, if anyone has any tips or advice on where we could hire a vehicle at a reasonable price that would help us enormously.
