Mid Week Training

Show Profile  runningbeast Posted: 2 May 2001, 3:53 AM
I attended my first group training session last night at the domain in Auckland and it was great! Did 5 x 5 min reps.

Makes it so much easier to do reps with other people. And tonight we have a run in the bush hopefully with headlamps.

Shame there weren't any other chicks/ladies there

Anyone else who is interested - Monday nights (1 hour easy) from the grandstand in the auckland domain, Tuesday 6pm (rep session) from grandstand again and Wednesday a longer run from various locations tonight is in the Waitak's.

There is a wide range of speed running so don't be shy

For all you closet running geeks in Wellington...

Regular training adventures from the Botanical Gardens, at around 3pm on Tuesday.

We could be convinced to run a little later to accomadate those individuals that have employment. Perhaps 5pm?

Anyway Tuesdays effort involved a circumnavigation of a long fence. Took about 1.5 hrs, a few nice hills.

Any interest?

Re: Auckland midweek training.
Judging from last night's attendance, the Monday/Tuesday night training numbers have decreased considerably, what with people away at various World Champs right now. However, I'm still keen to run and will roll by the grandstand next Monday at 6 pm if anyone's interested.

Re: Monday night o-training runs in the domain.

These are still a weekly occurrence, but numbers have dwindled, almost completely in fact. If there are any Auckland orienteers out there who aren't in hibernation and who want to get/stay fit for the upcoming regional champs, then stop by the grandstand at 6 pm. Normally 60-70 mins.
