Brent, has Flynn hijacked your username???
Is Darren running?
Brent, if it is really you, why aren't you picking yourself? Apparently you're "on fire" - don't you back yourself???

Gawd, there's another one. Why aren't you backing yourself in the classic Neil??? Stop with all this PC shit of picking others.

Thats not the New Zealand way. You spent to long in Australia mate.

Selectors, take note. Here we have two supposed contenders for WOC displaying such supreme confidence in their own ability that one of them thinks Greg Flynn will beat him in the sprint (has he been spiking your food Brent?) while the other has more faith in his 40-something neighbour than himself.

So you gonna pick your nose or pick some winners?

Difficult to pick myself.
Up in Auckland I'm only racing against useless people like Neil, Lawson, Bradshaw and Flynn, so its hard to compare against the big 4, I think I've made some ground on them, but I would be a fool to back myself when I am ranked 20th in New Zealand (2004)
I put greg in because he is a sprint specialist.

Interesing to note, 1996 at the tender age of 17/18 I was ranked 14th. Either I have got way worse or the standard of orienteering in NZ has increased since then.

Sorry Brent, silly me. It must have been someone else who went down to Taupo last weekend and had the fastest time in the night relays. This result from Oceania must also be a figment of my imagination:
1 Dave Shepherd RR-A AUS 1:10:18
2 Anders Axenborg GMOK SWE 1:12:28
3 Brent Edwards CM NZL 1:13:53
If Greg Flynn is a sprint specialist, what does that make you?
Oceania Sprint:
8. Brent Edwards
15. Greg Flynn
Greg Flynn's sprint record:
Oceania - 15th
NZ Champs 2004 - 12th
QBDay 2003 - 9th
NZ Champs 2003 - 17th
Yep, that's some special record.
Neil, it should be obvious who I'd pick as the winner.

I've never seen such ridiculous picks - so heres some real ones.
I'm presuming Darren isn't running and I'm probably biased towards myself and Penny - you have to believe in yourself!

Classic

Sprint
Chris

Karl
Women
Classic
Tania
Penny
Rachel

Now at least if all those results come through I will be stoked (although it will be good if someone beats Chris at least once).
And I guess this is a good way to fire all those super competitive old fellas up...ay Landels, Jessop, Lawson and Cory-Wright ;-)
Special prizes for the men
Scary athlete to watch...Lawson
Most overrated...Kerrison
Most likely DNF/No show...Flynnn
Athlete I'm truly scared of...Edwards (Bill)
1st split in relay...Morrison (he can have it)
Mr Inconsistent...Edwards (Brent)
Last...some poor multisporter
All the finish splits...Forne (in the absence of Paul Frith)
Grumpiest...Karl (after been beaten by Brent in Middle).
