Test Match Results

Show Profile  Michael Posted: 25 May 2003, 1:44 PM
The results for the middle (short) race on Saturday are on www.oasa.asn.au, and presumbly the long (classic) will go there soon. Respectable results I would say.

A match has a winner, what's the formula? Which of the Aussies were their nominated team?

answers

Aussies mens team: Rob W, Rob P, Reuben Smith, Ecmo, John Toomey, Craig Dufty

Scoring System; was 12, 8, 6, 4, 3, 2, 1

one point, there was a stolen control on the mens course at Gumeracha, control 12, this meant that legs 11-12 and 12-13 were invalidated. This is not currently reflected in the posted results.

Just thought I'd mention it as it means that Bradshaw got beaten by someone by four seconds.......

Aussie women's team?

Show Profile  Jamie Posted: 27 May 2003, 6:59 AM
umm

Natasha Key, Cassie, Alison Jones, Susanna Casanova, then unsure

Sounds like the test-match might have provided good competition, but to raise a flicker of interest out here in non-elite-land we need to know a bit more than the ethical questions faced by some of the runners. Like, THE SCORE. But perhaps lots of info went back to Robyn D and she hasn't been able to interest the media in it?

and then the press release is wrong.

I'm sure the coverage will be ready, and actually accurate for New Zealand Orienteering in August.

Hey I found some results, kindly supplied by ACW, its not quite how I thought the point system was going to work, they seem to have done it so even ammounts of Aussies and Kiwis score/get the points, for example in the mens classic I would have thought that Rob Preston would get 1 point not Rob J, but nevermind its not decisive.
