visit New Zealand

I'm from Austria and I propably want to spend half a year in New Zealand - comming in september. I don't allready know exactly what I want to do there - first visiting the country and then maybe look for a job and of course exercise orienteering. I don't know how popular orienteering is in New Zealand but I'm looking for a club and I would like to get to know some runners as well! Maybe someone could help me..
