Orienteering on the southern island

jonassundell Posted: 8 August 2015, 2:09 PM   Hi, in about a week and a half, we are two swedes that will make an 2 week long sightseeing tour around the southern island of New Zealand. Because we both are orienteers, and I will spend most of my time later on in Auckland, we thought it would have been nice to try out some nice orienteering during our trip on the southern island. As i understand, there are very few competitions and trainings around the country this time of the year, but is it any trainings or competitions that we could take part in during our travel (17/8 - 30/8)? Otherwise, is it some specific terrain or place you guys would recommend that we could run in? As long as we get a map we´re good to go since we will have our own car during the weeks.
