1) Someone from another NZ club turns up? Do they get your club member discount?
2) Competitors want to compete in pairs (or groups). Does your club charge per person or per map or per result-line.
3) How much does your club charge for SI hire?

AOC rules of thumb...
1 - All club members - NZ or Overseas - pay member rates.
2 - Payment is per map - second map for same person is free if they want to do a second course.
3 - SI hire for $3 per card.

1, Yes. We use to have it the other way, changed it 2 years ago
2, Per entry, regardless of number of maps or PPL in the group
3, $5, but we discount SI sales, starting with P cards at $15, and we also give newcomers there 1st 2 event free SI hire

Orienteering BOP
1)All club members (regardless of club) pay member rates
2)Payment per person if they are a small group going together. They are paying for the experience, not the map. We would do a deal for any large groups.
3)$0 we are old skool and use clippers and Q&A.

Darren,
You might be the last club in the world to not use SI.

Hawkes Bay:
1. Yes, great to have other orienteers turning up.
2. Per entry.
3. SI hire $1 per card.
Our family entry fee is $15 ... then add a SI card each - we get a first-time family of 4 onto a course together for under $20.
The local Sport overseers say we have the most reasonable membership fees they know of. (It may not be a good thing).

I really wish other clubs would emulate HB on the $1 per SI, at least for students. In Auckland the SI card hire is free under 10, then jumps to $3 each. For families with more than one kid 11+ it adds a heap to the day's cost at an OY/A series and some families then opt for "just one" - then the kids don't learn to compete independently.
