JWOC 2014

Show Profile  R2 Posted: 17 June 2014, 1:07 PM
The countdown to JWOC 2014 in Borovets, Bulgaria has already begun.
If you are a facebook fan then ask join the NZ JWOC Team Supporters group https://www.facebook.com/groups/172114552848044/
There is also plenty of interesting reading on the team blog http://nzjwoc2014.weebly.com/ and as we travel we intend to post news on the ONZ blog as well.
Less than a month now until the team meets in Sofia, Bulgaria. Keep an eye on the '5 days of Italy' and 'WOC' web pages for team members results in pre JWOC events.

It'd be great to see the JWOC blog on the ONZ website, it's designed for it (and there's even a blog there called JWOC wating to be used).

The team intend to use the JWOC blog on the ONZ website. Until now we haven't posted anything there, as we were waiting for a few issues with photo uploads and blogging to be sorted. The issues are fixed now...so we will be able to 'blog' on the ONZ site . In the meantime, the team was keen to generate a 'following' and interest in our preparation with the weebly JWOC blog.

The ONZ website now has instructions for keen bloggers (JWOC or others)on their website http://www.orienteering.org.nz/blogs/ and 'hot of the press' are 2 new JWOC blogs! Happy ready.

Great stuff on both blogs and Fb. The contrast between Paris and Samokov was delicious, Nick you could moonlight as a writer alongside your day job as a mapper.

Like the updated individual team photos. That's a surprisingly good likeness of Shamus. Looks like he's carrying a big weight on his shoulders for JWOC this year.

And the one of Nick training, suggests we haven't fully tapped the variety of urban terrains available to us.

Will they use/do they have tenths of a second to split ties?

Show Profile  fraser Posted: 22 July 2014, 2:15 PM
From bulletin 4.

> In all races the times are rounded to a whole second.

Is the live results working for anyone?

Show Profile  darren Posted: 22 July 2014, 2:23 PM
Can see any live results or gps Fraser. Limited updates on Twitter. Looks like its steadily raining now, might slow down the later starters.
