IOF proposal for WOC changes

I realised after logging off last night there were more to Tane's points than the clash between, say, the WC middle and oceania middle that I addressed. I can see how if the new WOC model was in place this year, our top Long Distance runners may have chosen to sit out of the World Cup to focus on the Oceania Long to try and get that extra WOC place. As even our most "long-specialised" runners should still have made it into the WC middle teams this would have been to the detriment of our WC hopes... According to the program for Tasmania 2015 that was doing the windscreen rounds in January this won't be an issue then, as both Oceania middle and long are "paired" with WC races of the same type, but who's to say this issue won't arise in future years?
