Matt and Nick in the top 20, Tim in the top 30!

Many fantastic results in the long. What a team!!! The lads above in particular beat a lot of runners from big name countries, punching above their supposed weight, including all three of them ahead of the Brits which might be a first.
Other highlights... how about Emily Kemp for Canada, and the Chinese guy in yesterday's sprint. Very impressive from these two.
Hope you guys & girls can keep up your huge effort.

"Only" two ahead of the Brits, Paul, but only Norway, Sweden and Czech Republic got more runners in M20 top 30! NZL's 3 was more than the likes of Finland, Switzerland, Denmark and Great Britain! Fantastic. Some more solid performances as well, with 4 more of the team in the top half of their fields. Go NZ!

Some great photos of our runners in the sprint and in the long on the JWOC web page under photos tab. Awesome run Matt in Sprint and long, great photos of Tim, Liam, Cosette and maybe other 4pages to check out and see the neat buildings in the town! (Just don't feel the heat!)

As an aside I am finding some of the setting of the courses a bit strange. For instance the sprint had both the men's and women's grades running at the same start times but had the same legs in reverse during the earlier parts of the race. Also some of the setting in the long looks like you have runners on different legs converging from opposite directions on the same control. I thought these were no-nos!

Between those relatively civilised times and last night's night off, I might just get through this JWOC/WOC fortnight semi-alive after all! How do we all think it will go? 4 A finalists? More?

Show Profile  SteveO Posted: 11 July 2012, 3:35 PM
Once more, Matt is awesome. Currently second* in his heat with 30 out of the 60 starters finished.

*I did not count the flying Moldovan who appears to have used a time machine to get from the second radio control to the finish.

Show Profile  SteveO Posted: 11 July 2012, 4:55 PM
I'm not sure how many qualify for the final from each heat but preliminary results have Matt 5th, Nick 8th, Tim 28th, Liam 33rd, Duncan 40th and Ryan 42nd while in the women we have Laura 16th, Cosette 27th, Jula 28th, Selena 35th and Sarah 36th. So assuming the first 15 or 20 from each heat go into the A final we have Matt, Nick and possibly Laura.

Show Profile  onemanfanclub Posted: 11 July 2012, 5:01 PM
20 per heat. So, yes Matt, Nick and Laura. All the others bar Ryan will be in the B final.
