Sportident update

Show Profile  Martin Posted: 7 August 2011, 12:56 PM
A new firmware available for sportident boxes - version 574 released 20 July

There's also an increasing number of the newer SI-8 and SI-9 cards being used at events so as organisers we need to make sure that either
* all sportident boxes used are able to handle these; or
* check that sportident cards being used are compatible and provide a replacement if not
I've seen a few cases where this hasn't been done - as far back as the waitangi carnivals and quite recently too - and the orienteer ends up without a result.

New Firmware (5.80) for SI-Control Stations
Oct 2012 - A new version of SI-boot has been released to enable the upgrade of SI-Control stations to the latest firmware.

This improves support for the latest SI-Card 10 and 11 which are now in circulation. SI-Card6 handling robustness is also improved.

Version5 and 6 cards work in all boxes and are available at good orienteering shops. Version 5 is the one in widespread use in NZ, while version 6 holds more data and records 2.5X faster.
