Just want to point out a couple of awesome results from Ross and Piret at Jukola over the weekend:
Ross 82nd (/1466) on first leg Jukola, Piret 26th (/1040) on 1st leg Venla. Both running for finnish club Rajamäen Rykmentti. Piret also ran 5th leg of Jukola for her estonian team a few hours later!
Running 1st leg of Venla last year was the most amazing orienteering experience I've ever had, so I'm sure they both had an amazing time of it!

Yip, saw Ross there. It was pretty exciting running first leg, although hard to fight through all the crowd of runners. Made 3-4min of mistakes but noting too major. I thought I had better have a go at first leg before I head back to NZ.

Well done guys and girls, awesome stuff. For those who don't know much about Jukola (mens 7-person relay) and Venla (womens 4-person relay) here are some cool photos from the weekends race -

Also a link to the full coverage of the Venla (3.5hrs long) - http://areena.yle.fi/video/1308586665541
And a short clip of the start of the Jukola. The start is at about 11pm hence the headlamps.

What about this oops Darren? http://news.worldofo.com/2011/06/20/jukola-2011-forking-error/
Huge potential for stuff-ups preparing maps for any relay, let alone one this large!
