Maps for SAR

After the search for the deaf woman whose body was found in Bottle Lake Forest, I wondered whether I could have noticed something "a bit different", which might have led sooner to the discovery. (I spent many hours there remapping, including of course off the tracks.) From far away I only knew that the search area moved away from Bottle Lake, before the body was found by accident, I think.
There are orienteers in Christchurch who have covered the Port Hills making orienteering and rogaining maps. Are they perhaps being used in the search for Emma Campbell? What about the maps?
