Training Day in Hawkes Bay

Wellington Orienteering Squad Training weekend When: Saturday 7th November Where: Hawkes Bay, The Slump The Wellington Orienteering Squad is holding a training day on Saturday 7th November at The Slump. We are extending an invitation to all experienced red level orienteers who would like to join us. The Squad will be training on the Saturday and attending the OY on Sunday. We will be meeting at the map (location to be advised) at 10.30am and expect that everyone will be ready to run. There will be one exercise followed by lunch and then two more exercises. Sarah   Hamish Posted: 31 October 2009, 7:33 AM   The Training day (Saturday) is on "Smedley" - access is via Smedley road, approx. 1km north of Tikokino. The OY is at the "Slump" on Sunday.   SarahG Posted: 6 November 2009, 5:51 AM   Instructions for Smedley I presume you can get to Woodville so after that continue on Highway 2 until Takapu Plains. Take left at Highway 50 and follow this until you get to Tikokino. Just after Tikokino take another left into Smedley Road and follow this until not quite at the end. From memory its then over the cattle stop and into the farm We will meet near the main buildings / woolshed  you should see our cars there. Hawkes Bay participants please be there by 10am ready for a 10.30am start. You will need o gear, including a map bag, lunch, and $5 for the day's training.
