Those are definitely jaw dropping statistics in my mind, but then again I have no idea what the trends are in Swedish Orienteering.
Any idea of the previous figures or where we can find them?

Statistics are notorious, but it seems that NZ orienteers are more active. Starts per Swedish member 5, starts per NZ member roughly 30,000/1600 or 19. Maybe there are lots more non-members orienteering here.

The big question, Alistair, is how many of those 2859 do you know, and do you have phone numbers?

No idea where earlier statistics are - maybe somewhere on SOFTs web-site: www.orientering.se
Mick - I don't know so many of them but you can find their phone numbers on www.eniro.se Good luck!
