Rocks blocking Napier-Taupo Road

Motorists travelling between Taupo and Napier are being warned of rocks on the road, some as large as small cars.
Inspector Ken Climo said the rocks have blocked the south-bound lane and have come down on a corner near Titiokura Hill, about 10kms south of Tarawera on State Highway 5.

Rocks on the Napier-Taupo road have been cleared, Transit NZ says.
Earlier there had been warnings about the rocks, some as large as small cars.
Inspector Ken Climo said the rocks blocked the south-bound lane after coming down on a corner near Titiokura Hill, about 10kms south of Tarawera on State Highway 5.
The blockage was cleared about 5am.
