JWOC 2007 Preview Shoutcast

Show Profile  davemeyer Posted: 14 June 2007, 9:57 AM
At this year's JWOC in Dubbo, Australia the Voice of the Forest commentary team will drag their sorry ar$es out of retirement to bring you the finest in race descriptions, witty observations (well we think so), background on key runners and other general banter. In preperation for the big event we need to warm our tonsils and practice pushing the right audio buttons so we will be rolling out the first ever orienteering-based shoutcast/podcast (what is the right term?) - 'The O Show: In Dubbo Tonight' on at 3pm Sunday June 17th Australian Eastern Standard Time. This equates to the following times for those who are keen:

5:00 UTC
Sun 7am Stockholm
Sun 6am London
Sun 1am New York
Sat 10pm LA (Sat 16th June)
Sat-Sun Midnight Lima
Sun 1pm Perth

A link for the broadcast will appear on the JWOC website here:
http://www.jwoc2007.orienteering.asn.au/Results/

The Voice of the Forest team is made up of regular attack pointers acejase & hoggster at the front end and jotaigna, liggo and omaster at the back end. Blairtrewin is part front end part back end and also in the team. In the hour long show we will be presenting Live from Dubbo and intend to cover such topics as:
- JWOC preview with special focus on several teams
- interview with a JWOC course setter
- discussion of JWOC terrain
- review some AttackPoint logs
- sights to see in Dubbo
- anything else we can think of at the time

We'll also play a few tunes and will ask people listening to write in to a forum on the JWOC website (or possibly here on AP if we cant get the JWOC one up and running by the weekend).

So the Voice of the Forest team hopes plenty APers can listen to the O Show: In Dubbo Tonight on Sunday. If you have any suggestions for topics to discuss, questions or once the show has started observations then feel free to reply to this discussion thread. Who knows if it goes alright we might do another one before JWOC. I mean if Hoggster and I are gonna live in Dubbo till then we might as well do something useful.....

cheers
acejase
