Belgians at JWOC

there is a little bit of discussion going on at "delaatsepost" blog about the decision that the Flemish (part of Belgium) team is skipping this year's JWOC due to financial reasons.
It seems there are a few opinions in the comments.
One of the comments was it was gonna cost probaby 1000-2000 euros for the athlete.
I have added my comments as well and mentions that is probably what every NZ team member pays EVERY year??
