Jenni - we do have a NZOF member database, talk to Stuart. (it is dependent on getting info from clubs)

I like the idea of a unique life time ID, would surely make Bryans job a lot easier.
Imagine people logging into the NZOF website with their unique ID (and password) being able to update their contact details etc, with a direct link to their stats on Bryans site and even a photo. That would be cool. Maybe even linking into a blog type thing.
Don't be a fuckwit Simon its not becoming of you.

I've fixed up the database - rankings appear ok - any further comments appreciated as it gets the database more accurate.
OT is now an official NZ club.
Two of the QB events had surname and firstname reversed.
Badge credits were put on only the total points - I've removed this and calculated credits for the 3 events - Auckland champs middle, and Day 2 total, and Day 3 classic.

The issue with a unique life time ID is implementation. How would it be managed and by who? Would school people get an ID for attendin say NZSS Champs?
Perhaps something that could happen is that every NZOF member gets a membership card. Most other sports have one. It could have our name and ID number on it.

alot of us have our own unique ID - sportident.
There's an archive that would be good to centralise, could it be put on the nzof website, downloaded before a big event and uploaded again after? I know thats what the Brits do.

sport idents get lost, broken and outdated.
It would be good to have a database with sportident numbers on it associaed with the unique id

Isn't 'Name - DOB' an unique ID, why make another thing up?
