For anyone wanting to either look at a nice map or do a little armchair map-reading for WOC 2004 here's a map from www.staff-valstad.com that illustrates some of the type of terrain as well as optimum route-choices... (straight-ish!) (It's actually from Stockholm but Västerås isn't so different a lot of the time.)
