2 Day event on Otakanini and Hedley Road maps

rob.g Posted: 22 February 2016, 10:00 AM   The North West Orienteering Club is putting on a weekend of Auckland Orienteering Series(OY) events on the 16/17th April. Otakanini was mapped especially for Queens Birthday weekend last year, and proved to be a massive challenge for most orienteers. This will be the last use for a while as the trees are getting thinned. The Saturday event is on the Hedley Rd map, which has only been used for rogaines in recent years, but has been remapped especially for this event. There will be 9 courses, so a course to suit everyone. These areas are the closest to the World Masters final area which will happen in April 2017. Pre-entry is not required, and start times are between 10-12.30 each day.
