NISS 2014

Show Profile  Rolf Posted: 27 February 2014, 10:25 AM
Essential Information and Entry form spreadsheet can now be downloaded at at www.orienteeringwaikato.org.nz

Given all the compliments flying around on this forum about cool looking event websites, this one is definitely not glamorous! However it will do the job and surely it is "what is on the inside" that counts!!

It's like your racing, Rolf - nothing flash but gets the job done

Show Profile  Rolf Posted: 26 March 2014, 1:35 PM
I agree with 'nothing flash'

Rapid response Rolf. You're the Oscar Wilde of the interweb.

Start lists and Event Programme now available on the website

424 Entries over the 3 days.

The odd shower forecast to remind you why the Waikato stays so lush and green. (even the Hobbits like it here)

Are you going to allow 'casual starts' after the competitors have finished each day?

Show Profile  Rolf Posted: 28 April 2014, 6:23 AM
We will try to offer casual starts to coaches/parents & Helpers. Depends on a bit on when all competitors finish.
Assuming we have time then.
* Not timed (although we need a list of names for safety reasons)
* find a left over map... or pinch one from one of your kids
* Clear finish time as we will have people waiting to collect controls.

PLUS: On day 2, you can't start until 'your' school has submitted their FINAL relay teams. No relay form... no run !! (Due 3:30pm... so you might need to get the relay form in early so you can run

Relay results added, same link as per Rolf's last post. Thanks everyone for coming, schools champs are always awesome events to be part of! Please let us know if any of you are putting maps with route choices/gps or any other analysis for any of the races up on the net somewhere, would be great to know how you tackled the courses.

Thanks to Rolf and the Waikato Ori team for a well run event: smooth organisation, roller-coaster bus rides and friendly staff. Even the weather gods were on their side.

The racing was excellent with six or seven races being decided by under 10 seconds, including dead heats in the Y7/8 Girls' Std and Intermediate Girls' Sprint.
