I haven't looked at both courses yet, but the women's looked fairly basic. Unless I was missing something even a number of the long legs through the city blocks didn't really have a lot going on in the way of route choice. Maybe we should have had someone like Liz Orchard there? ;-)

Yip, one of the least exciting races I have done from a course point of view. Lots of fast flat running, without much route choice. Despite this it was still a fun event, with good atmosphere. Will hopefully be a write up on OSquad blog soon.

NZL, BRA and COL outstandingly successful in synchronising their runners' performances.

I thought that I would hop on here to publicly announce that for tomorrow's mixed relay NZ and USA have formally challenged each other for AP supremacy. The winner gets glory, national pride and perhaps most importantly bragging rights on this very site! Also, to sweeten the deal, 50 million pesos are also on the line.

A look back at the past two days will show a slight advantage for the US women and a slight advantage for the NZ men... anything could happen, so follow along tomorrow and help us crush some Kiwis!

Yep that's right National pride is on the line! Follow us along so you can help us put the USA back in its place!

Also Team update of Day 2 is now up on the O-Squad blog.

Yep right down to the wire! Pretty exciting and really close at the end... Just not quite the right side of 1/100 of a second...

Georgia punched last control first but Ali was running just that little bit faster and had the following position advantage. Both of them were smashed at the finish line.

Well. Its been a dramatic few weeks, watching orienteering round the globe. But its not over yet. Just a couple of weeks to this http://www.attackpoint.org/eventdetail.jsp/event_15891

Meanwhile one of NZ's quietest and most consistent athletes has medalled at the World Masters. Not easy to even qualify for the finals when its in Europe. http://www.wmoc2013.it/live_results/result.html

Definately the most unkown, underrated veteran in NZ

Won the masters in the past, plus 3 Scottish 6 day events as an M35, 40 and 45 with only 3 appearances in that period.

Astonishing record. Well played RB.

Show Profile  Rolf Posted: 13 August 2013, 6:35 AM
For all the many many readers who thought that I was the RB referred to in the above posts.... I suspect Michael and Rob mean Ross Brighouse.

Bronze medal in M65. Yet another great performance from Ross to add to his endless list!
