Training for A grade orienteers (Auckland)

fraser Posted: 7 June 2000, 3:40 AM   The controls in the small pines from the Slater Rd event last weekend have been left in place and some more have been added. A course of about 7 to 8 kms is available but, of course, a shorter course can be planned for those not quite so fit. It is quite a tricky area so this is only suitable for the A grade orienteerer. Everyone will meet on Rob Garden's property on Slater Rd. Turn on to Slater Rd and follow round to Rob's place. There will be a couple of controls put out to guide you. Meeting time is 11am - promptly please. Everyone will walk up to a high point on the map and start from there. If you have your map from Sunday please bring it in case there aren't enough to go round. If you don't have a map don't worry, just come along. This is a great opportunity to get high quality O practice.
