Steer West to the Gladefest - Navigation Challenge and Karekare Gladefest

Show Profile  runningbeast Posted: 15 February 2012, 3:37 AM

Lactic Turkey Events and Auckland Council are proud to support Lone Kauri Community School with their fundraising through a Navigation Challenge Event and the Karekare Gladefest on the 3rd of March.

The navigation challenge event (rogaine) is a running or walking event for teams of 2-5 to explore the regional park track network to find as many destination points as possible in the time allowed you choose from a 6 hr event (for hardcore racers), 3 hrs (for mortals) or 90 minutes (for families and social groups).

The Gladefest follows at the finish area in the Pohutukawa Glade in Karekare from 3pm.

All welcome for live entertainment from Charlotte Johansen and band, face painting, lolly scrambles for children and hot food/refreshments for all.

Charlotte Johansen - described as pop music for grown ups, Charlottes music seamlessly blends a keen sense of satire and everyday truth with melodic hooks. Like the stylings of Sarah McLachlan or Beth Orton, her songs are beautiful and sincere.

Please remember there is no eftpos available in Karekare - so stash the cash in with your west coast beach gear.
