Good luck to the rest of the team! I'm off to bed as I have controls to place for tomorrow's rogaine.

Lizzie qualified in 6th place. Amazing effort, cant wait to see the maps

Congrats Lizzie - looks like you kept it all together where some of the more experienced euros struck trouble

Well done also to Chris, who adopted the clever tactic of doing nothing more than what was necessary to make the final. I'm also impressed by Penny who looked out of contention at the halfway mark but recovered to be just seconds from qualifying. Today will be your day I'm sure!

The question remains though of what did Chris say to Jonn Are Myrhen that made him skip two controls in the middle of the course, even though Jonn Are still bagged a fastest split later...?

Well done Lizzie & Chris!

All 3 women qualified for Middle Final! Fantastic effort, especially Amber 5th. Chris does the exact amount of effort required to qualify again and Ross just misses out. Tane misses out by only 6 places. Well done team!

Look out for the women in the relay!

apologies for lack of comments there doesn't seem to be enough minutes in the day at the moment.

Yesterday was an awesome day for the team. 3 women qualifying and with places to spare. Lizzie in particular doing so in a very Nordic fashion. Just another day at the office. Although the tightness of her heat with only one minute from 8th to 15the made her think twice about the jog down the finish.

Penny was hugely relieved to have a clean after a calamitous long qual and Amber was left wondering where that run just popped from. Sort of like the feeling that most Hastings girls have after their latest baby.

It is exciting to again have 3 women competing at this level and it will be great to see later in the week whether the top relay result from Japan 2005 can be emulated or beaten.

The guys have been going good to. Particularly in my book Tane and Mike who approached their races in a very disciplined and well thought out manner. They ran largely within their limits and gave themselves a chance which ob other days may have worked out.

The Fornicator proved again just what a jammy badtard he is (that error is deliberate ). Two 15that expect another one tomorrow in the sprint. Chris and Ross both made bad errors early in the middle. Both showed how good they are to both be in the hunt. Chris got lucky.

Last but nor least, Tobes is looking primed after his mind clearing no1 the other day and is firing up for the sprint.

Woohoo

Thanks Jamie, great to have the horse's mouth. Can we also expect a fastest split from Chris on the 2nd-last leg in the sprint? Perhaps something to do with 225km training runs? And fascinated by the training technique you are suggesting for the girls.

Do we have some predictions from the squid?
