The Fixtures Officer mentioned that he wished the calendars could be on the website. They could be. See http://www.mapsport.co.nz/nzof/newspage.html

So how far away is the website now...must be well overdue...from about 2007?
Even dodgeball (which you could question if it is a real sport?) seems to have a pretty professional looking website: http://www.dodgeballnz.com/

The new OPC website took about a month to put together and cost a few thousand dollars http://www.opc.org.nz/ Its made up in Wordpress and now the basic platform is there you don't have to be an IT geek/web guru to make changes...etc.
I imagine the NZOF one will look a million times better and will have all sorts of fancy flashy stuff, which is why it is taking so many years to put together.

This is not me complaining or being a smart arse or hassling NZOF. This is an expression of concern and an offer of help.
For starters we are holding a world cup in NZ in less than 9 months and we don't have a working federation website.
I think that yes its a good thing that we are making sure everything is good with this new website but i dont see why we cant have one working in the mean time.
I took a couple of hours (aprox 2) to mock this thing it. It is clearly not finished but wouldnt take to much more to fix up.
If NZOF wants I can run this website for them until the new one is up and running. I can also add any content they might like.
If they don't see the need for this that is also ok. not much time lost by me.

I share your concern Duncan. And if its not plainly obvious from my postings, there is no reason why the existing website can't be maintained until the all-singing-dancing replacement is there. Besides me, another in my club has offered assistance.

Simple but effective and fills a gap. Well done, Duncan. I'm not sure of the issue nationally. Is it an issue of funding or resourcing?
