hey Bryan - does Paul Henry not do enough training either?
(have to admit this came from someone else, but just had to get it on maptalk!)

oh yeah it's sooo tempting to join in the fun, we could start a pick on Greg revenge thread!
In any case, imagine life without the likes of Paul Henry and his controversial but somewhat likeable sense of humour. We might end up with someone like Oliver Driver in the driving seat. The bfast show would be so ho-hum no one would be bothered to complain, they'd more likely have fallen asleep in a pile of apathy.
So, maptalk without Greg...? It would be like Seseme Street without Grover

Don't encourage him - he'll only get worse :-)
It's difficult for someone who so often walks close to the line to
work out when they overstep the line.
How about:
Clarice without Hannibal
Germany without Hitler
InFamous Grumps, Grouches & Curmudgeons:

including Grumpy, The Grinch, Ebenezer Scrooge, Archie Bunker

whoop, I mixed up Oscar with Grover.
BTW not wishing to trivialise the quake, after 1500+ aftershocks you guys must be getting very stressed and tired of it all, I was listening to the radio a couple of nights ago when another 5.0 shook you up. People were ringing up in definate state of panic. How are the little ones coping Jenni?

I'd imagine they would be pretty perky.
Geez Val, we all know the Bay is full of racists (to the extent of virtual apartheid in towns, schools and workplaces) but do you have to expose the orienteering community to such drivel?

Yep there's a fair percentage of drivel here on maptalk. I didn't realise you had to be one of the worlds best writers, comedians, academics or philophisers in order to pass some sort of censorship to post a comment here.

Are you guys all right down there this time? And what about the fire at Leithfield, did that affect the map?

It seems like it was mostly the centre of town and the boxing day sales that was hit - and hopefully no-one else. The Leithfield fire was in the Southern part of the forest where the middle at Cant Champs was held. But I don't know the extend of the damage.
