MURIWAI REGIONAL PARK NOTICES:

* Some red courses will enter the Muriwai Regional Park tussock area, which is a sensitive conservation environment. While in this area all care should be taken to protect the environment.

* While within Muriwai Regional Park, ARC requires participants keep to formed tracks, accessways, and roads wherever possible. Duneland and dune plantings are to be avoided.

* ARC REQUESTS ALL EVENT PARTICIPANTS' FOOTWEAR MUST BE CLEAN PRIOR TO THE EVENT STARTING.

* ARC REQUESTS ALL FOOTWEAR MUST BE CLEANED AT COMPLETION OF EVENT (ON SITE OR AT HOME).

* The regional park is not closed for the duration of this event and participants may encounter other users during the event, who should be treated with respect and must be given time and space to pass.

The Muriwai Regional Park notices only apply to Saturday's Woodhill Forest Long Distance (multi-day length) event.

1. EVENT PROGRAMME
The event programme is available for download on the event website:

This includes:
- directions to event locations
- important event information that all competitors are required to know.
- background information on what is happening at the Queens Birthday Royal Orienteering Carnival
- Information relevant to spectators and support crew
- Additional competitions and prizes details
- Onsite Suppliers and Food available.

2. SAMPLE MAPS
A copy of the event maps as last used for each of the areas is available for download at:

3. GOOGLE MAP OF EVENT VENUES AND DRIVING DIRECTIONS
A link to a Google map showing the entrance to the event locations is on the home page of the website. To get approximate driving directions, click on the event icon on the Google map, click on directions, and type in your start address.

4. IOF PICTORIAL CONTROL DESCRIPTIONS INFORMATION FOR RED COURSES
Participants running on RED courses will need to be familiar with the IOF pictorial control descriptions format. Links to information and reference sheets are available:

5.INFORMATION FOR SPECTATORS / FRIENDS & FAMILIES
Spectators, friends and families are welcome to attend the events over the Queen's Birthday weekend. If you know of someone who is coming to support you while you race, a page with relevant information has been added to the website:

10 year age grades! Orange long, orange short grades. Looks so much better having decent fields in each category. Looks like a respectable sport for a change.

woohoo, chasing start middle...I'm pretty sure these races are what hooked me on orienteering to start with, and last weekends was choice!
