Snogaine 25-26th July 2009

Show Profile  Tane Cambridge Posted: 30 June 2009, 2:03 PM
Since the clubs website is not functioning properly at the moment:

This years Ski orienteering will be in the form of a 3 hour Snogaine (a Rogaine on skis!) This on again/off again event has been rescued thanks to PAPOs John Paul Lilburne, who has offered to plan the event and do the necessary fieldwork. It is a teams event, and all teams must have at least two members. There are several grades, including a family competition. The Snogaine will definitely have a few twists to make things interesting!

This year our clubs fundraising is focused on Nationals 2010, and the usual generous subsidies that have been available for this event in the past are not available. However, Mary Lee at the Snowfarm is again offering discount rates for skiing and trail fees, and the entry fee is only $5.

The Rogaine is on Saturday 25th July, and is followed the next day by a Biathlon event. The biathlon is a ski and shooting event, that does not involve navigation, (unless you ski off course!) Laser guns are available for children and beginners, and it is a whole lot of fun. Just ask anyone who was there last year!

So come along for a great weekend in the snow!
