This service seems ideal for real time tracking of orienteering competitors. Just carry your cellphone.

It only works on some phones but it does work in New Zealand. Obviously cellphone coverage is going to be an issue but it sure seems easy and with lots of potential.

I installed it on my phone yesterday. It didn't work, cause my phone is one of the phones it doesn't work on.

The non-GPS phones probably won't give you a very accurate location.
It would be good if Latitude worked on the new Garmin Nuvifone, when it is released. That would probably give a more accurate location than the other GPS phones available.
