Can somebody tell me what is the point (now) of the JWOC interim squad.
I originally thought the idea was that it was the JWOC team (so travel arrangements could be made in order save money), but with the allowance of kicking people out if they go to shit. Now it just looks like a list of those that put their name forward.
But this policy, was designed when a trial was normally Easter (and complaints about travel costs were made), now with a trial also written into the JWOC selection policy, having to be held in Feb, what is the point of getting the selectors to publish a list that just seems pointless and a waste of time?

I think its partly to do with applying for funding. You often have to apply 6+ months before the travel date and you need a named team (or potential team) to be successful in the application. Thats my understanding anyway...
