Hi,
A bunch of 10 reasonably intrepid Brits are coming to Masterton for the NZ O Champs 21-24 Mar. We are coming early to see a bit of your country and would like to get a feel for some other orienteering oportunities. specifically, are there any events/training opportunities near Wellington on 9 Mar? Blenheim Area 13 Mar? Palmerston 15/16 Mar? Rotorua 18/19 Mar?
Any help grateful received - our standards run from a pretty good W21L through good M50/W35-45 through a bunch of technically good but fat and unfit M40s (me included) to a relatively novice M35.
Sight-seeing guidance also welcome

The best place to look for events and training opportunities is on the Maptalk Events page (see link at very top of this page)

Rotorua has a permanent course at the Redwoods, but is pretty basic and not really indicative of NZ terrain. There is also a permanent course on Te Mata Peak in Hawkes Bay which is a great place if you like wine...

Thanks Chris - orienteering and wine - my 2 favourite hobbies! Do you know where we could get maps of the Te Mata POC?
