Entries close tomorrow for the third Akatarawa Attack, an 8/4hr MTB rogaine in the wilds between Upper Hutt and Kapiti. An international flavour will be provided by Mary Fien and Peter Lorimer from Australia. Fien was 13th in the long distance in MTBO-WOC-04.

PAPO is also running a MTBO rogaine that weekend - on the Saturday - billed as preparation for the long-running Cyclic Saga in March. Details via the PAPO or MTBO websites.

The start point has been announced for the Attack - Karapoti Park in the Akatarawa Valley. All three Kennett bro's have entered - in different teams. Late entries still being accepted. Previous riders have said "worth it for the map alone..."

As they did last year, John Randal and Simon Kennett won the 8hr Attack yesterday. They spanned the 100sq.km map of rugged country near Upper Hutt which is riddled with logging tracks both old and new. Brother Jonathan with Andrew McLellan won the 4hr section.
